5 Mind-blowing Facts About ‘Near Me’ Searches

I have previously written about the topic “near me” searches.

In the other article, I have discussed how you can optimise your blog posts for this keyphrase.

So if you’re interested in learning just how to do that then you can read it here.

In case you weren’t persuaded in taking action based on my other article or by knowing how important making the necessary changes are to your business, then this one might just do the trick.

In this article, we will take a look at the current statistics and how they apply to your blog and search engine optimisation (SEO) strategy.

The source of this data is no other than Google’s very own Vice President of Marketing for the Americas, Lisa Gevelber.

I have arranged them in chronological order, with the latest ones on top.

So without further ado, let’s jump right into it.

The first three were published in 2018 and are from statistical observations over the past two years.

There’s a 900% increase in mobile searches that contain the keywords “ ____+ near me + today/tonight.”

Examples: Restaurants near me tonight, dentists near me today

Here’s the next one:

For the keywords “Open” + “now” + “near me”, there is an apparent growth of 200%.

Example: malls near me open now, ice cream shop near me open right now

Next, we have another one that’s also in relation to mobile searches.

There is a 150% increase in searches made through mobile devices with the keywords _ near me now.”

Example: hotel near me now, fast food near me now

The last two statistics that I will be sharing were made public last 2017.

In a similar fashion with the previous data mentioned above, this next one corresponds with mobile searches (which is an article idea that I’ll work on soon).

1/3 of the total mobile searches are location-related.

It is followed by this one.

There’s a 2x growth in searches that include the “near me” or “nearby” phrases.

So, what do these facts mean for you?

All of these translate to a NEED for an update in your SEO and blogging strategy.

If you write your site’s blogs yourself, I highly suggest you read the article that I mentioned above for reference. If not, then make sure your writer knows about this.

It’s not only the blog that needs a revamp but your website, too.

Make sure that your local SEO is on point. One valuable tip I can give you is to include the exact location of your business on your website.
